Wine Blogging #18 -- Vintage Wines LTD, San Diego, California. My first
WBW and I have to praise a wine shop! Good thing I'm used to giving my
favorite wine shop plenty of exposure, although it is usually on my
other wine blog Tasting Notes. Why continue to play favorites?

I'm back from a break in an undisclosed location. I have read Mark's
posts and your comments from the past week and am thrilled that he
accepted my invitation to waste his time post informed commentary about
wine. I hope he'll continue periodic postings here especially on wine
and travel and wine in Chicago. Dr. Vino in a hotspot with no wi-fi

Blogging Wednesday 18: wine shops that feel the love
Ah, February with its abundant love cliches. But we food and wine
bloggers will have nothing to do with pink champagne and heart-shaped
tubs (at least that we'll write about) this year. Instead, the theme
for Wine Blogging Wednesday #18 is: wine shops that feel the love!

Da Wine
Well, it's been a pleasure holding the fort these past days. Thanks
again to Dr. Vino for the podium. One parting observation: I'm writing
this from Chicago, which has so much great wine (though not great
vineyards...) So why aren't there any wine bloggers in Chicago? (My
current week's stint excepted.)

Wednesday #18: Wine Shops.
[Wine Blogging Wednesday] The UK is blessed with a plethora of
specialist wine merchants. At the last count, before UKWinesOnline was
closed, the listings counted nearly 400. These range from the internet
only merchants covering individual product areas (such as Champagne) or
more likely countries (Spain, regional France and Italy are popular)
The next Wine
Blogging Wednesday announced.
[The new wine blogging wednesday logo] An unusual challenge for Wine
Blogging Wednesday 18 that in a nutshell boils down to a recommendation
from your favourite wine shops staff. This is going to be tricky as the
shops that get me most enthused and excited are are online or miles
away (I no longer own a car).

18 - Fountainhead Wines
I often write about wine shops in New York City (Crush Wine Co, Big
Nose Full Body, and the new Astor -- coming soon!). And I even have an
interactive map of shops including my favorite places in the city. So I
thought I would venture outside the city to see if I could find a "wine
shop that feels the love" for this edition of Wine Blogging Wednesday.

#18 -- wine shops that feel the love
Attention! One week from today is the international transnational
multinational event known as Wine Blogging Wednesday! Bloggers of food,
wine and otherwise from around the world post an entry around a common
theme. As the host this month, I have chosen the theme of wine shops
that feel the love.

- My Favorite Wine Store(s)
As the jingle goes, "you can never have just one potato
chip." Me, I can't have just one favorite wine store. So, for Wine
Blogging Wednesday #18 I have two. If you don't already know, WBW sets
aside one day a month where wine bloggers post about the same topic.
This month, Dr. Vino chose the topic. Here's my contribution:
