Wine Blogging Wednesday, WBW
A
Penny and a Pound
Taking the slighter of the two first, the better to stoke the fires of
your burning curiousity, dear reader: WBW - Wine Blogging Wednesday -
#20 has been announced, and looks to be a worthwhile endeavour. If you
want a fairly safe bet, Colios Estate Pinot Grigio 2004 took a gold at
this years Cuvée and I wont call you a cheater if you use WBW as
an excuse to try the 2004 Vidal Icewine from EastDell Estates - also a
gold winner.
Vieux
Telegraphe 2004 WBW 19
So in the spirit of Jathan's Wine Blogging Wednesday #19 entitled "when
in Rhone" I post a couple of notes from these incredible Chateauneuf du
Papes. Also, jathan has posted the WBW roundup already--what speed!
WBW
#19: the true taste of Counoise
Just WBW is supposed to be, entertaining and educational.
WBW
19: When in Rhone ...
I will eventually write about all the wines tasted, but for this
particular Wine Blogging Wednesday, hosted by Wine Expression, I will
focus on the first two wines we tried: a 1994 Chapoutier Ermitage Cuvee
de l’Oree and a 1994 Chave Hermitage Blanc.
WBW 19 Summary Posted
Even before I could get my podcast posted, Jathan provided a summary of
Wine Blogging Wednesday 19 over at Winexpression.

After all, they were the store that I found the bottling of Counoise
for WBW 18 last month.
White Theme for WBW 20
Bill over at the Wine for Newbies Podcast has announced the theme for
the next installment of Wine Blogging Wednesday. [] I was over at Solo
Vino this morning picking up some wines for WBW 20 and Chuck cracked
open a just received case of Chilean Pinot Noir for me to try.

Wine Blogging Wednesday
#19
For the March 2006 edition of Wine Blogging Wednesday, the 19th
in the series and my 2nd, Jathan at Winexpression.com has suggested the
topic of Rhone-style wines. This topic gets back to the pure tasting
roots of WBW, after last months diversion to wine shops that feel the
love.
Rather
it is time once again for Wine blogging Wednesday!
Undurraga, Pinot Noir 2005
I was over at Solo Vino this morning picking up some wines for
WBW 20 and Chuck cracked open a just received case of Chilean Pinot
Noir for me to try.
2003
Delas Côtes du Ventoux
I imagine other wines in their portfolio are more interesting
and might have made a more interesting entry for WBW19, but this one
was worthy in that you can tell what aspects it gets from the Syrah
(pepper, blackberry), Grenache (spicy herbs, cherry) and Carignane
(rigidity, bitterness).
Back in action...
Ive got quite a few tasting notes to sort through and Wine Blogging
Wednesday to prepare for, so it shouldnt be long before this space gets
back to normal stay tuned.

Side note: Wine Blogging Wednesday is a lot of fun, but I've always
thought it would be cool to do a sort of "book club" thing.
