Amazing

1999 Rodney Strong Symmetry Meritage
The wine was amazing. I payed more for that bottle than I had thought I would ever justify paying for a bottle...but it was totally worth it, because it was a totally awesome bottle of wine.

1981 Chateau Musar Cherry/kirsch, smoked meats, earth and honey. The palate shows amazing fruit sweetness that is balanced superbly by aged earthy, spicy characters. Complex and long. If this was deconstructed too much you may be able to pick out many faults, but amazingly all mixed together they have achieved harmony. 94/100

Two Corks are Better Than One
Amazing to think that someone 44 years ago made this mistake, probably by doing these corks by hand and we just discovered it. If it weren't such an expensive bottle, it would have been interesting to open it up and see if the floater changed the wine.
