Pinot Noir

Lets drink a good pinot noir
Let's drink a good pinot noir: South Florida Sun-Sentinel It's hard to find a really good pinot priced at less than $18-$20 (the only exception is the Baron Philippe Pinot Noir from France).

St. Clair Vicar's Choice Pinot Noir (2004)
Pinot Noir is a love it or leave it grape, and I’m a sucker for a good, affordable Pinot. It is a textbook example of a well-made Pinot Noir.

2005 Parker Station Pinot Noir
Unfortunately, this is what we had to do last night after opening a bottle of Echelon Pinot Noir to discover what we think was the worst case of oxidation we’ve encountered. Todd came home with a bottle of 2005 Parker Station Pinot Noir.

Talbott Vineyards Kali Hart Pinot Noir 2004
The region is fast becoming an area know for Pinot Noir due to it's climate of warm days, and cool nights needed to grow the Pinot Noir grape. Being over exposed in the movie, Sideways, it has gained a repution and advanced the cause of Pinot Noir from Monterey County.

Andrew Lane Napa Valley Gamay Noir Takes Bronze in West Coast Wine ...
Available today at $19 MSRP, Andrew Lane 2004 Gamay has the mouth-feel and velvety texture of a Pinot Noir, but with a more vibrant, red fruit character. Often described as a California Rhone, Gamay Noir a'Jus Blanc is closely related to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and is the primary black grape of France's Beaujolais region.

Grochau Cellars Pinot Noir
But the main wine for Grochau Cellars so far is the Pinot Noir. It’s $35 on the Higgins list, which is still quite a deal in top flight Oregon Pinot Noir.

WHEW what a trip
Rotari Arte Italiano Cuvee 28 Trento DOC 90% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir. I was able to pick up a really nice bottle of Vin Santo and a Pino Nero (local name for Pinot Noir).

MAD Pinot Noir 2004
MAD pinot noir is the brain child of 3 buddies of mine who share a passion for wine. Ferrous is one of three single-vineyard designated plots of pinot noir owned by Kooyong Estate.

Crimson Pinot Noir 2004 by Ata Rangi
The 2004 vintage saw Ata Rangi release its first "young vines" pinot noir named Crimson. Not the most complex of pinots, but there is typicity, which makes for a very decent glass of pinot noir.

A toast to pinot
Marc Goldberg and Maggie DAmbrosia were debating what the ultimate food pairing for pinot noir their favorite red wine would be. "Our theory was that pinot noir is so diverse that it would go with any kind of paella, whether its shrimp and chicken, or snails and artichokes," DAmbrosia said.

2004 Craggy Range Te Muna Road Vineyard Pinot Noir
But it's the pinot noir from the cooler Martinborough region, to the south, that will put Craggy Range on the world winemaking map. As good as the 2003 pinot noir was, the 2004 Craggy Range "Te Muna Road Vineyard'' Pinot Noir -***** - is even better.

Experts: Get contract first
“Of course Pinot noir is the hottest thing out there,” followed by Zinfandel, said California Association of Winegrape Growers Chairman Rodney Schatz in a phone interview from his Lodi office. And Pinot noir, the silent star of the 2004 movie “Sideways,” experienced a 70 percent rise in grocery store sales, compared to 2004.

And finally, I was able to match producers (though not vintages), with this Sokol Blosser, 2005 Dundee Hills Rosé of Pinot Noir, $10. Who says you can't make a great rosé of pinot noir?

Loving older zinfandels
The largest parts of my collection are devoted to cabernet sauvignon and its Bordeaux counterparts, with pinot noir and zinfandel finishing distantly in the rear and everything else being represented by dribs and drabs. Pinot noir and zinfandel are, as my father used to say, birds of a different feather, however, and their age worthiness is shorter than cabernet and less reliable.

Ste. Michelle agrees to buy Oregons Erath Vineyards
Based in Dundee, Ore., and founded by Dick Erath in 1967, Erath Vineyards was among the first wineries in Oregon's Willamette Valley, which has developed a reputation for producing high-end pinot noir grapes and wine. Erath produces roughly 65,000 cases of wine annually, about two-thirds of which are pinot noir, according to Erath spokeswoman Leah Jorgensen.
