Noteworthy:
Truckee River Winery was established 21 years ago with the vision of sourcing quality grapes, bringing the fruit toTruckee [CA] to take advantage of the high elevation and cold temperatures, to naturally cool the fermentation and slow down the barrel aging process. Thus becoming the highest and coldest winery.
Winery Notes:
...a very delicate Pinot with the complexity, depth, and soft tannins that the Pisoni clone is known for.

Truckee River Winery 2008 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir pours as a garnet purple color. Nice aromas of ripe fruit. Plenty of berry and cherry flavors, Queen Anne, on the palate; a long finish with sculpted tannins.

Truckee River Winery 2008 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir is an elegant Pinot with rich flavors and a velvety mouthfeel. Pair with baked salmon or other fish dishes. Suggested retail price is $45. Overall composite score: 95 points.
