Until last weekend it wasn’t obvious, but winter is upon us. And while
most of the farm stands are boarded up for the season, just about all
of Long Island's East End wineries, bed and breakfasts, and restaurants
remain open....

As usual, this wine includes everything but the kitchen sink. In 2003,
it includes Syrah, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Carignane, Barbera, and
Malbec. It's a good value generic red ($10), but not especially
memorable.

Since the 2000 vintage (I think), the Leaping Lizard wines I've tried have presented very good values. Their Napa Zins, Carneros Pinot Noirs, and Cabernets have been consistently good and cheap.
